Our first stop will be at an ancient castle 8 km south of Argostoli dates back to 394 AD. At the time Kefalonia was aligned with the Roman Empire and was ruled by Arcadios. The castle takes its name from the church of Saint George that used to be on top of the nearby hill. Pirates ravaged the island and plundered the villages and towns that they came across. Due to vulnerability to attacks a second castle was built, in 1584, in the rocky promontory of Assos. The location of this castle made it virtually impregnable.

Saint George Castle
Our next stop will be at Gentilini Winery. Gentilini, a state-of-the-art winery with the estate vineyards in Kefalonia, has been at the forefront of quality wine making in Greece since its first vintage in 1984. Gentillini has been represented all over the world by top international merchants such as Justerini & Brooks, Bibendum, Simon Loftusand lately Oddbins. Gentilini produces a range of wines that aims for worldclass stature and is targeted at the sophisticated and discerning consumer. Nevertheless it is a great opportunity for all guests to visit the winery, enjoy a small tour from a member of Kosmetatos family and taste these unique wines and buy the one that suits to your taste!
Finally, we will stop at Lassi for hanging aroung and swimming at makris/platis gialos beaches. Lassi is the number one destination for holiday makers on the island. In the summer it is flooded with tourists bustling along the streets and occupying the considerable variety of restaurants, bars, hotels. Everything the visitor needs can be found here so the visitor does not go far. Some of the most beautiful beaches on the island can be found here making it a very popular place for visitors and locals alike.
Platis/Makris Gialos beach
Lassi is known for its beautiful beaches namely that of Makris and Platis Gialos. Essentially it is a long beach which is separated by a cluster of rocks. The spotless golden sands and beautiful blue waters of the Ionian are some of the elements that make them widely known. These beaches are very well organized for the tourist housing canteens, sun beds, umbrellas and showers. Also there are many water sports for the visitor to enjoy. In August it is hard to find a free spot of sand as the beaches, especially Makris Gialos are extremely crowded.

Although this tour is with a bus we do not operate it as a bus service. We will take our time in each place we visit, we take our time to enjoy it as we share with you tips and history of the place.
Our trip starts from Lixouri and we drive by the Kefalonian golf where along with the beautiful views of the golf we also look for dolphins by the fisheries.
Our first stop is at the most photographed beach of Kefalonia Myrtos. Your photo will always be unique as the colors of the sea in Myrtos always change.

Myrtos beach
We continue to the top of the island to visit Fiscardo, for most guests the most beautiful village in Kefalonia. We have time to visit the Environmental museum created from Fiscardo's Nautical and Environmental Club (FNEC - www.fnec.gr). We will also walk through the narrow streets among the building that survived the catastrophic earthquake of 1953.

Fiskardo
Our next stop will be in Assos, the second village which the earthquake did not destroy. There is a lot to say for Assos but we will tell the most during our trip. Here we will have time for coffee and a walk through the village or up to the Venetian Fortress.

Assos
Next stop is the seaside village of Agia Efimia where we will have our lunch in any of the many nice restaurants by the sea and Ithaki island to our background view.
Agia Efimia
After our lunch we will visit the underground secrets (a sample of them) of Kefalonia. Melissani Lake is the first as we need to catch the sun when it is still on top of the lake and makes its waters amazingly bright.

Melissani Lake
Next we will visit Drogarati Cave with stalagmites and stalactites that age many thousand years.
